Free Dishcloth!

I tried doing this giveaway just on Twitter yesterday, but it didn't work, so I'm expanding my audience ever so slightly.

Inspired by a lot of dishcloth-talk on Twitter, I'm giving away one 100% cotton dishcloth like these:

The first state I lived in.

The state I live in now.

I've never known dish-washing with anything else. My grandmother uses them, my mom uses them, I use them, and I had no idea you could wash dishes with anything else.

I've since seen people use a sponge (ick!), but these can be washed in the washing machine over and over again! (I also just learned you can throw them on the top shelf of a dishwasher if you're lucky enough to have one.) Plus, these babies are gentle and rugged, so you can wash everything from glass to nasty pots and pans.

All you have to do is leave a comment here or tweet it (use @kimberlypye and add #windishcloth so I can find you). Tell me what state (any of the 50) you want and what solid color you want (I'll do my best). You have until Friday (May 1), 11:59 pm PST to post a comment or tweet the giveaway. (Earn two entries by doing both!)

P.S. It's okay if I know you or don't know you or if you can knit dishcloths like a pro or if you already have a million knit dishcloths. Share the love and give it away if you want!

P.P.S. I'm doing all the knitting, but the patterns are by Rhonda White.

I bet a New Hampshire dishcloth would make a fabulous gift for Grammy Kathy this Christmas! :) :)

Very cool Kimberly. If I win could I request something other than a state? Like an original Nintendo Controller in Red :D

Chris:

To keep the rules simple, I'm going to say it has to be a state.

But, just for your awesome idea, I'm going to design this pattern (which, as far as I can tell, has not been done before) and give you one anyway!

I can attest to their ruggedness.

My favorite of the four you made me is the red one in the bunch that you sent me last time. It holds it's shape so much better than the others. It's crocheted and the others are knit.

Either way, I'd love one of my homestate of Connecticut in navy blue or another darker color. The darker yarn helps it stay nicer, too.

here via theambershow. I knit but nothing that complex. (Actually I went searching for a pattern for the yellow/orange dishcloth you sent her once I saw it. Love!) I'd love a California in teal...

Hey,

If he is getting nintendo dishcloths we all deserve them. Massachusetts for me. I hate sponges!
